Daycare Center
The First Baptist Child Care Center was established in 1969. First Baptist Church sought to address the evident need to provide a safe, reliable, and caring environment for children.
The mission of First Baptist Church Child Care Center is threefold:
- To provide a safe, secure, and supportive haven for children
- To share the love of God
- To provide educational growth opportunities with age-appropriate learning and to concentrate on kindergarten readiness activities
The Missouri Department of Health oversees the functioning of Church Day Cares, and sets health and safety regulations.
First Baptist's Day Care Center will accept children at age 2 + if they are fully potty-trained and can feed themselves. We will accept children through the sixth grade. The Day Care will accept children on a basis of need, time of application and availability with no preference shown to race, religion or nationality.
Rates for Preschool, Kindergarten and children grades 1 through 6 are available by calling the Child Care office at 573-364-8965.
Daily Activities Include: Bible stories, music, creative art time, nap time/quiet time, activity centers, alphabet and numbers projects, theme activities and other age-related activities.
We provide a hot lunch daily along with a morning and an afternoon snack. A weekly menu is available for the parents. A favorite part of our day is "Show and Tell." They may bring something from home to show the other children or tell about something they have done or are going to do. Children are permitted to bring toys from home under Center guidelines.
Summer Activities Include: Bible stories, music, art, crafts, supervised play (in fenced-in playground, weather permitting), walks, field trips within a 25 mile radius, and kindergarten readiness activities.
School-Age Activities: During the summer months, we ask the parents for an activity fee to be paid monthly. This fee is applied for our summer activities which may include: Travel T-Shirt (to be worn for our field trips to identify your child with FBCC) and weekly skating and participation in the Summer Movie Festival at Forum Cinemas.
