Where do I fit in?
We at First Baptist of Rolla are people just like you, we succeed and fail, we have good days and not so good days, we do what we should and sometimes what we should not ... and we have found a home at First Baptist.
You'll find that we worship a God who loves us just as we are, and loves us so much that He doesn't want us to stay like we are. He is a God who through His Son Jesus Christ has provided a way for our deepest needs to be met and a way to give us purpose in life as we meet the needs of those around us.
We want you to experience God's love and the fellowship of His people just as we have and we want you to be comfortable doing so. We invite you to take advantage of some "Get to know a few people" opportunities through Sunday Morning Bible Study Groups (9:00 AM ) and Sunday Morning Worship (10:30 AM).
Whether you're a large family or a family of one, we invite you to see what our family is all about. We are as easy to find as traveling down Tenth Street and turning South on North Cedar. You will find a Welcome Center as you enter the doors off of Cedar. More detailed maps are found below.
What to Expect
First Baptist of Rolla is a caring congregation that welcomes you into our midst. We want you to discover the joy that we share when we come together to worship God in spirit and in truth. If you are planning to visit on a Sunday morning, here are some hints to help you find your way around and know what to expect.
Bible Study
Our Bible Studies are for all age groups and offer a variety of experiences. You will be greeted by a smiling face when you enter our building. These greeters can direct you to the Welcome Center where volunteers will help you find a Bible Study class that is appropriate to your age and life stage.
FBC Worship
After Bible Study, our morning worship begins at 10:30 in the sanctuary. Our members will be happy to help guide you there. Please take the opportunity before the service starts to silence all audible pagers, cell phones, and watch alarms.
As you enter the sanctuary, you will receive an order of worship. The service usually begins with an instrumental prelude where you can prepare your heart for worship. Near the beginning of the service, you will be welcomed by one of our ministers, but not singled out in any way. Please give us the opportunity to know you better by filling out a visitor's card and the worship pad in the pew. Please place the completed card in the offering plate.
During the service, you can find the hymns that we sing in the hymnal in the pew rack, and songs not in the hymnals will be printed in the worship folder. Clear instructions will be given when to stand or sit. Our desire is to allow you to focus your heart on the reason we are here ‑ to worship.
After Worship – Our staff will be greeting at the door. Please let them know if you are a first time visitor so they might greet you personally. Once you've visited, we hope that you'll choose First Baptist of Rolla to be your church home.
